Was out in Rochelle trainwatching last weekend and noticed one of the westbound intermodals was carrying 2 26' Pups in a well car designed for stacked containers.

Looked like something we used to do as kids with our HO guage trains! They were loaded so that the rear axles were in the car's middle, sitting very low compared to the front of the trailer.

Guess I don't get out enough, has then been a common practice for very long?

Thanks John. Funny, guess I either never noticed it, never paid attention to it or I'm just am a bad trainwatcher.

I need more practice - holiday weekend here I come!

Have seen 53 foot trailers rigged like that too. Its amazing how willow puts trailers on and off. Fun to watch as long as you stay out of their way. :-D
