CEFX 2002 is almost on property as a replacement for the 2018. Going to be fun to have two 2002s on property

A trio of Pan Am GPs has been running on CMQ.

LTEX 3280 is on property now working on CMQ. A dozen additional units are coming soon.

More power from LTEX... Question I have is what units are leaving when "new" power arrives?

Maybe the GP20D's. Maybe they just need more power. They are running about 10 fewer units than MM&A was. I realize traffic isn't quite where MM&A's levels were pre-Megantic, but they've got to be feeling a shortage. Especially after this miserably long and cold winter.

Why do you assume units are leaving?

That's what I had heard, but was hoping it wasn't the case. Have you heard differently?

Simply curious. Haven't heard of anything leaving just comin'. Wouldn't be surprised to see some of them GP20Ds migrate out... the 2002 which showed up went up north to Quebec to work on another outfit. The CEFX 2022 is headed up to Maine on ST right now, assumed to go to CMQ.

4 ex-ATSF GP35Us from LTEX on their way to CMQ via CN currently in Toronto. Should be a few more units coming as well.... but the first for now

Plus 2 more GP20Ds on property... fleet total is 21 units, 3 OOS

CN9634,
Do you know the numbers for the new GP20s as well as the three units that are out of service (2004? 2023?)?
Thanks!
Fritz

CEFX 2022
CEFX 2019

Also the 2004, 2005 and 2023 are OOS

The 4 LTEX units were not included in my previous count. Also, there is another LTEX, a GP38-2, in Montreal on CN coming to CMQ. Fleet should get into the high twenties perhaps low thirties in the coming months.

Surprise, surprise, the GP20Ds are an epic failure. There's a reason why they've never found a longterm home, and it's unfortunate CMQ didn't take that into consideration before leasing them. Much ado was made by Giles about these being so much newer/better/cleaner than the locos they were replacing. (I wonder if these were the "faster" locomotives he was talking about...?)

I seem to be missing the point here... they have increased their fleet size of GP20Ds with only one offline now and a total of 8 running. The 2004 and 2005 are B23-7s. I've heard from crews they aren't bad units just not great in the cold (like any unit). How is this an epic failure?
