Is there any new information about the BAR wood refers that were painted blue on the bottom half and white above with a potato emblem ? On October 2, 2009, riffian had posted info here which indicated these cars may have been purchsed used in 1951 although they didn't remain in service for long and the paint scheme is not definetely known. I once had a Silver Streak model of the blue and white car that I think I built around 1953-54 and would enjoy knowing about the prototype.

Ken HOughton (Hougton's Railimages) may IIRC sell a B&W print of one. There is also a B&W photo in the Angier/Cleaves B&A book.

One of them appears (but is not the primary subject of) a photo taken in Ashland in the first volume of the Morning USn B&A in Color book. If I recall, this pic confirms the end color as boxcar red/brown/oxide red.

NNE color guide to freight & Pass Equipt. says purchased used from MDT and has a color photo dated 1957 of one in the yellow and black scheme.

Hope this helps. OVerall, info and pics are spotty on these as they were only around for at most a decade pre-1960 and vastly outnumbered by the orange steel cars.

Which one/s existed for real? And only limited "repaint's" of 1926 vintage woodside cars?
