Services which improved in both measured categories included the eastbound Cardinal, Boston section of the Lake Shore Limited, and DET Corridor; the westbound BUF Corridor; and both directions of the Pennsylvanian and STL Corridor.

Best performances were the City of New Orleans and the STL Corridor; lowest scores were for the westbound BUF Corridor and the southbound Crescent.

As taken from the Amtrak Twitter sites, causes for delays were:
43 - Amtrak Equipment
4 - Amtrak Hold for Connections
113 - Host Carrier
24 - 3rd Party Interference
12 - Weather Related

Unfortunately, there are numerous Twitter entries that show a train being late without any explanation as to the cause.

The large disparity between WB and EB scores on the BUF Corridor is caused in part by the extra dwell time at ALB for the EB's with none for the WB trains.

Regarding a query as to terminology I have used:
"Cancelled" means that the train never ran; "Annulled" means that it was aborted en route. (That is a holdover from Train Order rules that stated that an order remained in effect until fulfilled. superceded, or annulled.)

The eastbound STL Corridor does surprisingly well considering that one of the 3 daily trips is #22 eastbound Texas Eagle, the performance of which tends to lower the overall figure for the Corridor.

Similarly, the eastbound BUF Corridor includes #48 Lake Shore Limited, but the extra padding in the schedule and the lengthy dwell time at ALB provide a very large cushion.

It will be interesting to see what happens if the threatened long-distance cuts take effect in October.
