Amtrak On-Time Performance (OTP) Delays Reroutes Annulled

I looked, but things are getting confirmed by the press before Amtrak’s PR team got it’s pants on.

"Confirmed" by the press that can't write a story about a grade crossing incident or most other railroad activity without getting ten things wrong?

Change Fees Waived on All Existing or New Reservations Made Before April 30

There are no current travel restrictions on Amtrak. However, we understand you may have concerns, and as a valued customer we will waive change fees on all existing or new reservations made before April 30, 2020. We will continue to monitor the coronavirus situation closely and adjust this policy as necessary.

The waiver applies for tickets purchased by April 30, 2020.

How to Change Your Reservation

Simply log in to your account or go to Modify Trip on Amtrak.com, or find your reservation from your account on the home screen in the Amtrak app.

A fare difference may apply to your new itinerary if it is more expensive than the original fare purchased.

If you want to cancel your reservation, call 1-800-USA-RAIL.

"Update: Wolverine Train #351 is now on the move currently operating on time outside of Durham (DNC)"

"DNC" is not Democratic National Committee but Durham, NC; that's one heck of a detour!

Both CB and MP tracks are owned and dispatched by the UP today.
Never-the less, the Texas Eagle does not go through Jonesboro.

I see that the northbound Crescent has regularly been 2 hours late this week.

Aren't freight railroads running fewer trains with an economy basically shut down, and so wouldn't there be less congestion to delay the Crescent?

Or is this Norfolk Southern yet again just being a mess north of Atlanta?

Rail traffic is down slightly, but not enough to allow the railroads to screw up.

Crescent Train 20 which departed New Orleans (NOL) on 4/2, is currently operating approximately 1hr 50mins late due to speed restrictions between Meridian (MEI) and Tuscaloosa (TCL) and freight train interference between Anniston (ATN) and Atlanta (ATL).

The City of New Orleans has not been running to that place since Apr. 2, 2020. A bus is being used South of McComb, Miss.

Too bad it's entirely down to reduced service, collapsing freight traffic, and no passenger delays to muck up the timetable
