Group,

Just a quick correction to the total number of C425's built, as there were 90, not 91. I go into detail about this in the C425 section of Withers Publishing Alco's Century Series Volume One - Four-Axle Models, but the quick answer is that N&W 1011 is often counted twice, as it was wrecked and rebuilt.

I see the list says 6/7 roads represented. Who was the 7th?

Sorry to see what looks like a whole fleet of (modernized) C-425 -- the Lake States Railway units -- get scrapped!

Curiosity question: can you give any details about what GE's rebuilding (at the ex-Erie shops in Hornell?) involved? 2000 hp sounds as if they got 12-251 engines in place of the original 16-251. (This is what some GE-Hornell 2000 hp rebuilds of C-424 units got.) How about the electricals? Did they keep the big GT-598 generators that C-425 had as original equipment, or did they replace them with something smaller?

Which seems unlikely as changing to the GT564 would have involve a lot of frame modification and would have drove up the cost of the rebuild.
