Not sure if this counts as an Alco anymore... it looks like the only parts of it that are still Alco are the frame and trucks:

CVSR has their C420 for sale now. Word is that most other ALCO and MLW power will go up for sale too when they are replaced by so-called "GREEN POWER" either as new locomotives or rebuilt FPA4's. What a waste of taxpayer money!!! Funded by a Government grant no less.

Ozark Mountain recently bumped the M420Ws to the top of the list, but they're still listed at $165K each.

It appears that there will be several Arkansas & Missouri Alcos for sale in the not-too-distant future.

It is interesting to note that mention of "NEW" power is NOT in the latest A&M Newsletter. This in spite of the general Fan press coverage.
However, there are ALCO C420 parts for sale in Railswap by the A&M.

Here is a photo by Terry Redeker of the first ex-EMDX SD70ACe repainted in A&M colors (no lettering yet): http://www.rrpicturearchives.net/showPi ... id=3593379" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

That has to be the worst paint design on a locomotive, even for an EMD! Too much maroon, not enough blue, The lettering will be too small, but the worst part is that this design does not follow the contours of the locomotive. Who ever designed this has no eye for design. I bet if they started a contest , a model railroader who does painting could have come up with something much better.

Three of A&M's new SD70ACes have now had their lettering and logos applied.

The postings about EMD and the A&M paint job belongs in another category. This thread is about ALCO's For Sale only.

With that in mind, I know someone looking for a RS-1 or RS-11 roadswitcher for use on a shortline. Anyone know of one for sale?

The Morristown & Erie had a former EMC RS-11 for sale a while ago, # 7205. Don't know if it's still for sale.

I agree. That's why I initially posted a link to the A&M thread. But you replied about the paint scheme in this thread instead of the A&M one, so I assumed you wanted to keep talking about it here. Sorry.

According to an online M&E locomotive roster (compiled and maintained by a current M&E employee), they only have two RS11s left: 7205 and 7215, both stored out-of-service at Morristown. The rest were scrapped between 2006 and 2010, except for 7210 which was sold. No idea what kind of condition 7205 and 7215 are in, but this person would know or could find out for you.
