How many web sites can you think of that are strictly devoted to ALCO's ?
If possible, list the links.

Hey, let's not forget Fairbanks-Morse. They will sell and service a brand new Alco 251 for you... they bought the license from Bombardier.

They bought the rights from GE. GE upgraded the engine when they bought it from Bombardier. GE's upgrade was the initial Plus Package. FM then bought the engine and loco use rights from GE and made a few changes to the Plus Package. Later FM sold the Alco loco design and rights to build Alco Locomotive not engines to National Railway Equipment Corp. NREC can build the locomotive but they cannot build the engines and as such would need to call up FM for an order of engines if they want to build locomotives.

Lets get the story straight: GE did NOT upgrade the 251 engine with the plus package; that was done by Bombardier. If you doubt me on this, I can mail you documents that prove it.

I don't doubt you but I'd love to see the documents myself. :)

If you are a member of ALCOdiesel @yahoo.com, go to the files section and click on the Hitachi brochure link. Then go to page 7.
If you are not a member, you will have to join first.
