This 1396-vintage 5-car articulated train set recently returned to IRM after two years at a Milwaukee, WI shop getting structural repairs. It was delivered to the East Union Museum campus by the Union Pacific during a snowstorm on the evening of December 18 and switched into indoor storage by the Museum the next day. The Museum crew used an unit for the move, a CB&Q SW7 recently restored to the "Way of the Zephyrs" paint scheme and logo, as shown in this photo:

How's the stainless E5?
The E5, CB&Q 9911A Silver Pilot pulled this very train set many times on the Burlington. It is fine and in operating condition, but like most IRM diesels is currently drained and winterized, It was added to the Zephyr train set and put inside as part of the same switch move, as shown in the link below. All these photos were taken by Adam Robillard, an IRM volunteer in the track department.
