The Museum of Transportation is re-opening the search for a Restoration Technician to work primarily in its railroad collection. This position will be repsonsible for participating in hands-on restoration and preservation work within the collection with an emphasis on painting and surface preparation as well as carpentry and metal repair and fabrication. The role also includes the development and oversight of restoration projects, including cost estimating and research. The restoration technician works closely with the curator of collections as well as restoration staff and volunteers.

This is an excellent opportunity to work with one of the largest and most significant railroad collections in the country while enjoying the benefits of working for the St. Louis County Department of Parks and Recreation. More information and an application may be obtained by visiting http://www.stlouisco.com and clicking on "Job Search." The job is posted under the Parks Department. Please note the description on the St. Louis County website is less reflective of the actual job duties than the description above and instead reflects the standard job class description utilized within the county government.

Specific questions about the position may be directed to Molly Butterworth at [email protected] or (314) 965-7998 x18.
