Hey all

I visited the Steamtown Historial Park yesterday, in Scranton, PA. This place is really good. Alot of hands on exhibits, half of which are actual locomotives and rolling stock (All immaculately restored for static exhibition), with the museum being centred around an original roundhouse facility. Part of the facilities is a public-accessible walkway that goes through the actual running shed where operational steam locomotives Baldwin #26, Canadian Pacific #2317, Canadian Mikado #3254 and Boston and Maine Lima #3713 were stabled and being serviced!

Apart from that, the other exhibits were also high-quality, different roundhouse sections were dedicated to different exhibits. One section showcased how steam operates, others showcased railroad workers, etc. More information can be found at: http://www.nps.gov/stea/index.htm

Photos are following.

Fantastic photos...thanks for sharing!

I took my wife there on our honeymoon in 1997. Well, sort of. We were honeymooning in the Poconos and I begged and pleaded to spend a day there.
