BALTIMORE (AP) - It took almost three hours for a five-alarm
fire at a huge foam-storage warehouse in west Baltimore to be
brought under control this afternoon. The blaze sent flames shooting 100 feet into the air. No one was injured, and no nearby buildings were destroyed. The warehouse sits in a residential neighborhood not far from the Baltimore Zoo and Druid Hill Park.
Baltimore Fire spokesman Kevin Cartwright says it's too early to
determine a cause. The warehouse is owned by Life-Like Products, which manufactures foam coolers and custom molding products. Fire officials say the warehouse was used to store plastic foam products. Officials with Life-Like had no immediate comment
