I heard through the grapevine that Hornby of the UK purchased Rivarossi... which effectively stops any export or development of new products to America for a while. I was waiting for the new 60' cars to come out individually, only to find out that they will not be released- only in four packs as they are now.... has anyone else heard anything about this?

Hornby plc in the UK made an offer, March 08-04, for all the Lima assets, including Rivarossi, Arnold and Pocher brands. This is in the Italian courts at present and if successful, the process should be completed by the end of this year.

Other offers may be received and considered in that time. Hornby has stated all production will be moved to China where the current Hornby
production is.

Bear in mind that Walthers does not own anything in this case, they just
contracted with Rivarossi for the models.

If Hornby is successful, Walthers will have to deal with them to continue the line.

If no other offers are accepted, subject to approval of Lima's creditors and the Italian Court, Hornby is confident that the offer will be accepted and will be able to complete the purchase of the Assets shortly after court approval is obtained(up to nine months)

Maybe something on their www.hornby.com
