Can anyone tell me how the BNSF and IBEW set their wages? I'm interested in which Local represents Seattle, WA.? The Inside Wireman local for this area is Local 46 and their wages are significantly higher than jobs posted by BNSF. Thanks for the help.

There are railroad specific IBEW local's. I think the BNSF one up there is local 1769. If you're a good electrician, the railroad wages will be lower than you can get elsewhere, especially because the job generally covers everything from inside wire to transmission/distribution systems. That's a pretty big scope for $25/hr.
