When did NECR adopt NORAC rules? I missed the change because the nearby line went to CTC (from ABS/TWC) with the Vermonter rebuilding. After G&W?

Thunderstorms around 6PM last night (11/27) took out some signals between Claremont Jct. and White River Jct.

Monstah alert: 611 leaving Palmer tonight (schedule has been a mess recovering from CN strike) with 140 cars.

Edit: approaching Charlestown at 0343 Saturday morning with 3476/3317/3477, and now 145 cars.

The company that proposed and then dropped the construction and demolition debris transload proposal in Claremont NH has returned to the City with a new proposal to enclose the entire operation, including the rail siding. The planning board had objected to the open air processing of C&D material.

324 went on the ground in Essex Jct. last night. Appears to be a half dozen cars, loaded centerbeams standing upright, with a single extended height box on its side. Sounds like it was cars at the back of the train, the rest made it down to Palmer. Yesterday's 323 waiting on cleanup, they're still sitting in Bolton, VT as of about 10 minutes ago. 611 has already departed Palmer for Brattleboro.

Trying to confirm if anything has run. Have not seen the usual train to Palmer in a few days and a worker told us not to expect to see it on Friday due to the derailment.

The best I can gather from the FB chatter, is that a move went north yesterday through Waterbury before 4pm, and apparently tied onto the 323 from 5/13 sitting at Bolton. There have not been any additional moves south, as the track structure was not back in place as of last evening. The train now has 8 units in the consist and apparently moved north to Richmond, where a photo shows them parked across from The lucky Spot store on River Road/VT 117.

Update: the rerailed cars have been returned north, and 323 made its way to SAB before sunset.

No Southbound sighted this morning, any word if they got fixed up and are running trains to Palmer?

Yesterday's 324 was through BF before 7am, today's train passed Cornish about 35 minutes ago. Yes, the track is back in service.

Genesee & Wyoming’s New England Central Railroad has leased land to Connecticut Port Authority for handling wind turbine components, in return for the authority agreeing to facilitate rail access for future port business. ‘This agreement builds on the completed upgrades to the NECR main line through Connecticut’, said NECR President Len Wagner. ‘With the pending completion of upgrades to the line in Massachusetts as well, the railroad will be able to handle modern, fully loaded freight cars from the Port of New London to the Canadian border, and from there throughout North America.’

A bridge inspector has placed the Missisquoi Bay bridge OOS per Rails & Ports. No further info is available at this time for possible detours or how the affected RR's will respond.
