As part of a project to deepen and widen Newark Bay for bigger ships the Army Corp of Engineers are planning to blast the surviving concrete pilings of the old Newark Bay Lift Bridge. Which doesn't make much sense to me as the don't really stick out into the bay all that far. Are they going to dredge right up to the shoreline? Anyway attached is the link to the story.
