On a recent trip to Providence from Boston, I noticed that a section of the P&W track westward from Boston Switch in Central Falls has been removed. Is this temporary or permanent? If temporary, why has it been done?

Probably part of the FRIP project where they are lowering the 3rd track several feet to accomodate tri-level auto racks.
