About 2 months ago Railsimulator.com announced the development of a route from NY-New haven. Many speculated which terminus this route would include. A few days later they released some photos on their facebook page(which can be seen herehttps://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set ... 090&type=3) showing NYP and Hell's Gate bridge so many thought NYP would be the major terminal used. It was also revealed that the ACS-64 would be the main engine used for the route. A few weeks later they showed pictures of Harlem 125th street which took many by surprise indicating that Grand Central was to be included. Sure enough not to long after that a picture of Grand Central was shown on their face book page. It was then announced that the HHP-8 was being developed as well most likely as a separate add-on for the route. Just yesterday they showed photos of track along the New Canaan branch once again indicating that branch extensions(at least New Canaan) would be include leaving hope for simulation fans that maybe even the Danbury and Waterbury branches could be included to. Less then an hour ago of me writing this post they released a picture of Metro North M8(https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid ... =1&theater) it was a bare bone picture but it leaves much to the imagination. I don't know about you guys but based on their past releases this one is totally blowing my away and I can't wait to get it. It seems like they are giving us everything we wanted an maybe even more. I wanna know if you guys are as excited as I am, and am also interested in your input and opinions on this route and all the developments that seem to be coming from it.

I don't know who their U.S. "consultant" is, but on their website, they had the HHP8 in front of Fordham Rd. station, which is impossible in the real world. I pointed that out on their discussion board, and it was gone the next day. I also indicated that a major minus for the NYP-PHL scenario was the total lack of SEPTA and NJY equipment. There are scenarios of locals, but the creator has to use the Amtrak AEM-7 to run it. If they're doing M-8s, then that's a big improvement over the other NEC route.

The picture of the HHP-8 is actually still up on their face book https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid ... =3&theater and I think they are aware of where the train does and does not go, I think because Fordham was the best built station at the time, that is where it was placed.

The route has been officially released on steam 1hr ago, I opted for the route without the HHP-8 i'll pick it up later when i'm done with the ACS-64, which I am liking right now but In my opinion I think the acceleration is a little to high but so far the route has great graphics, play with video ram caution :P

Thank God. If it didn't come out today, some people were going to have a hissy fit..... :P

First problem already. Running the first New York-to New Haven run [Twighlight Shoreliner], and there's no "platform" to go by on the HUD, even though it's listed to go by there on the task list. Result, a failed run until that error is fixed.

There are always minor issues with an initial release. It will probably be fixed once the bug team gets around to it.

This release video showcases the testing of boost mode (6400kW) and continuous mode (5000kW). Regenerative braking remains at a rating of 5000kW in both modes.
Take note of the time and distance differences between the modes during acceleration. Both tests conducted with 8 car Amfleet train and focus on time and distance to reach 125 mph and also regenerative brake only distance and full service brake distance.

The purpose of this pack is to allow the player to run the ACS-64 in either Boost Mode (6400 kW) or Continuous Mode (5000 kW).

Parameter Change Log:
1. Three different "tractive effort vs speed" files included; one for boost mode, one for continuous mode, and the default text file that the game engine reads.
2. Maximum sustainable speed increased to 125 mph via changes to .bin file parameters.
3. Regenerative brake adjusted to operate down to 1 mph. Maximum effort (34,000 lbs) available from 75 mph down to 3 mph.
4. Ampere parameters adjusted so that 1 amp is = to 1 kN; maximum tractive amps/kN = 320, maximum braking amp/kN = 150.

IMPORTANT; Install Instructions; REMEMBER TO ALWAYS CREATE BACKUP FILES TO REVERT TO INCASE THE INSTALLATION DOES NOT WORK AS PLANNED!

1. Open the "NewYorkNewHavenAssets.ap" pack file with .7z
2. Proceed to open folders until the .7z directory reads "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\RailWorks\Assets\RSC\NewYorkNewHaven\NewYorkNewHavenAssets.ap\RailVehicles\Electric\ACS-64\Default\Simulation\".
3. Then open the "Railworks_ACS-64_Traction_Physics_Mod.rar" file.
4. Highlight all files in the .rar file and drag them into the .ap file directory.

6. The installation should be complete.
7. Extract the contents of the .rar file into the following directory (C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\RailWorks\Assets\RSC\NewYorkNewHaven) in order to ease the process of switching between modes as described in the following set of instructions.

Utilization instructions:
1. The premise of this pack is that you can only run the ACS-64 in one mode at any one time.
2. The default mode of the pack is "boost mode."
2b. Notice that in addition to the "TractiveEffortVsSpeed" text file (default file), there are two other files; Boost = "TractiveEffortVsSpeed (6400kW)" and Continuous = "TractiveEffortVsSpeed (5000kW)".
3. Before playing TS2014, choose the version you want to run (boost or continuous), then proceed open "TractiveEffortVsSpeed" AND the text file that corresponds to the mode you wish to operate in which would be located in the directory stated in step 7 of the install instructions.
4. Select (CTRL + A) and copy (CTRL + C) all contents in the text file that corresponds to the mode you chose, and then select (CTRL + A) all contents in the "TractiveEffortVsSpeed" file and paste (CTRL + V) over the text until both files open are identical.
5. Save the default file.
6. Repeat steps 1 and 2 from the install instructions.
7. Drag the "TractiveEffortVsSpeed" text file into the .ap file directory and overwite when prompted.
