Not a commuter or passenger train, but anyway. Ballast train at Campsie, NSW with some 3801 Ltd locos! Ex-Bombo.

Thanks Somebody ( if you give us your first name , we can call you that in future) , the lead loco on that ballast train looks similiar to our DI class , now retired . i take it its quite an old loco ???

Hi David, that loco is a 45 class (see http://locopage.railpage.org.au/sra/45.html ). These were built in the early 1960s, most were withdrawn and scrapped but some still survive with private operators and in preservation, this one is a 3801 Limited preserved loco which is leased out to operators like Pacific National and RailCorp for things like freight and ballast trains. All of the locos on this train were heritage ones, the other ones being 44 classes :)
