When 112 years of rail on Eyre Peninsula came to an end last Friday, two of the last four drivers who unloaded the final train, retired with the engine.

Billy O'Reilly, 39 years in rail, and Ian McIver, 37 years in rail, said they have taken early retirements, rather than leave the district.

Seems crazy to replace the trains with 30000 trucks.
