Hello Allen,

Enjoyed chatting with you for a few moments at the Amherst Railway
Society train show at West Springfield, MA. I hope that you had a
good show. Your booth seemed to be quite busy when I stopped in for
a quick visit on Sunday.

Following is the e-mailed list that you requested which includes all
of the Short Line railroads included in my forthcoming two volume
set, "New York Short Lines in Color." for Morning Sun Books, Inc.
(Previous books include "Pennsylvania Short Lines" in Color, Vol.
1, "Pennsylvania Short Lines" in Color, Vol. 2, and "New England
Short Lines" in Color)

For consideration for publication in the books, I am searching for
color slides or 8 x 10 glossy color photos taken during the
1950s, '60s and '70s through about 1980. Contributors whose color
photos (about 600 required, total) are used will receive a
omplimentary copy of Vol. 1 and/or Vol. 2 when the books are
published.

Volume 1

Albany Port Railroad
Arcade & Attica Railroad
Bath & Hammondsport Railroad
Brooklyn Eastern District Terminal
Buffalo Creek Railroad
Bush Terminal Railroad
Dansville & Mt. Morris Railroad
Dexter & Northern Railroad
Fonda, Johnstown & Gloversville Railroad
Genesee & Wyoming Railroad
Grasse River Railroad
Greenwich & Johnsonville Railroad
Harlem Transfer Company
International Railway
Jamestown, Westfield & Morthwestern Railroad
Jay Street Connecting Railroad

Massena Terminal Railroad
Middletown & New Jersey Railroad*
Napierville Junction Railway
New York Dock Railway
Niagara Junction Railway
Norwood & St.Lawrence Railroad
Owasco River Railway
Prattsburg Railway
Rochester Transit
Saratoga & Schuylerville Railroad
Skaneateles Short Line Railroad
South Brooklyn Railway
South Buffalo Railway
Southern New York Railway
Staten Island Railroad
Unadilla Valley Railway

Many thanks for your help. So far, almost all of the color slides
submitted for the books have come from contributors outside of New
York--Pennsylvania, Kentucky, Massachusetts and shots that I took
while I was living in Connecticut. There must be, at least, a very
few New York residents still out there somewhere that were
photographing the little roads in New York State during
the 1950s through early 1980s!

All the best,

I have very few, if any, slides from that era, but count me in for a copy of each book! They sound fascinating.

I just wanted to add a correction to Mr. Carlson's email address. It should be 'shortlineone @ earthlink.net'. The willowwoo is an older one and no longer active.

Also, it seems the photos requested are quality color shots from the 1950's up to the 1980's. These include freight, passenger, unique equipment, trains or structures.

Looks like a very interesting project covering all of these shortlines in New York State!
