Work on this loco started in June of 1999. It is now almost March of 2012.

Same could be said for the Flying Yankee as well. I was hopeful to see both 3717 and 6000 in operation... 10 - 15 years later, not so much. :(

This doesn't get updated often on Railroad.net but the current information for Boston & Maine no. 3713, "America's Locomotive (TM)" is at http://www.project3713.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; and at Project 3713 on Facebook.com.

The current situation with the federal government shutdown is not helping matters. A lot of contracted work is complete or near completion, but can't get delivered to the park until the park is open again. 2019 should be a good year of progress for this steam engine project.
