Update on this Ghost from the Past:
Great thread on this topic going back 10+ years plus the 2 part series on the mines history which cleared up a lot of my questions.

Most recent posts talked about the few structures left remaining . well slowly but surely those smaller ones are being demolished.

Looking at sat views - would the 'yard' to the south have been in existence prior to the mine or was it developed to serve the mines?
