The track rebuild North out of Milford is under way. How far we get North depends on how much money we raise. The first truck load of new ties will be coming this week, track crews should have them installed this weekend. Next order for ties is being placed Tuesday AM, this is a great time to make a donation, it would make next weeks order.

So where did all this funding suddenly come from? It seems like it's quickly coming together - is there any way to keep this up going northward, to connect to Riegelsville and beyond, faster than the expected current timeframes?

The funding came from everywhere, Milford is a town that wanted to see the train return to their station.. After a 6 year rebuild GE 146 is blue carded, she made test runs last week on the main for the first time in decades. Tri State Track is on the job site as I type. Will are restoring 1.5 miles, Riegelsville is still 5+ miles away.

Trains (small trains) will be running out of Milford on Sept 24th (God willing)

We still need help with donations 877trainride.com click on Milford Mile in the left column.

Thank you !!!!

But with an incredible turnout from the people of Milford - I know you're only working on 1.5 miles for now - but if the support continues, will you then push for further than 1.5 miles?

Everything is looking good for a historic day in Milford this coming Saturday, 9/24. I will let Don elaborate, but the FRA was recently on the property, and there is exciting news imminent.
Yesterday saw a MOW crew starting to put the finishing touches on the southern end of the BDR; just a few quick photos from the day......

To even be a very small part of this is very cool, thanks to Donko142 for his superhuman efforts.....

I would like to thank everyone who did their best here with the project. Ever since i was young, ive always dreamed of seeing trains run along were i live along the river, my Dads godfather also appreciates and loves trains, especial here where he spend alot of his life and still, He lives right above the river and he told me how he would always here the trains Horn go off down the narrows, he even bought a train bell and mounted it to a cut tree to ring back to the enginer when ever the old red came down in the 90's.

Its a dream almost come true, after all these years.

Thank you so much guys, Ill be at the event like always next week^^ You might even catch me and "Bob" hm^^ :3

Thanks,
Kovich.

How is "Millie" (the restored engine) getting down to Milford? Is the track passable, or did you have to trailer her? Last time I looked (maybe 10 years ago), it seemed like just north of Milford one rail was a hair from the cliff down to the river!

Tie replacement program has been in effect from Milford northward for the past few weeks; new ties & ballast in area of which you speak just last week.....

Chris, assuming you are replying to my quote, I take it then that the engine came made it to Milford on the rails?
Did they have to move the track away from the river (which I imagine in many places is nearly impossible with the road, and too expensive even if they could)? Jim

Yes, I was replying to your post; no track relocation necessary, just some minor repairs/adjustments to allow 146 to make the trip down safely on the rails. "One rail was a hair from the cliff" may be a justifiable opinion if viewing from a passing vehicle; there are several points where the rail is close to the west embankment, but as I mentioned, a representative from the FRA visited the line last week, and suggested several minor repairs/adjustments to make the voyage safe. I was a part of the team this past weekend that began that work, and trust me......Don has no intention of pushing the envelope. If the RR is not 100% safe in his extremely qualified opinion, 146 will not make the trip.
Right now, it is looking good......

Donko142's 45-tonner is in Milford as I type; join us for a historic day on the old PRR Bel-Del line tomorrow. Caboose rides all day, make a donation & get a cab ride in 146 along the Delaware River. An absolutely, positively, guaranteed good time; the first diesel locomotive in front of the old PRR brick station in Milford in over 20 years........
