but don't think anything went
by last night...mod. move to

i was surprised at 3:30 a.m.-ish
this morning when i saw either
a power move or a 2-3 car train
slowly heading headed WB thru
Rutherford...
my eyes are shot to
begin with ( ) but i thought
i saw a hint of a yellow UP loco
trailer facing EB a la' H80 style...
anyone know what train
or move this was? thanks,

I heard them come east at about that time taking the crossing at Central Ave in East Rutherford.

Last nights H07 power going west was a GE wide cab west out with what looked like an EMD Standard Cab east out. I passed them at 70mph on their way west so I didn't get a great look. Whatever was east out had a really mean sounding Nathan P5.

The "Specialty" cars might have been the trash cars that have been coming in and out of the Middletown & New Jersey Railroad from Four Story Junction. If they looked like stack cars with the middle upper stacks missing, then that's them for sure.

Could this have been NJT's Aqua train being moved out to Wood Ridge?

i don't think they were the
trash or those half stack
cars for the contaminated
dirt removal either.
it was an engine then maybe
2 oversized (height-wise) cars
with some extra lights on all 4
corners...maybe they were some
sort of work cars with floodlights?
i dunno, didn't have me glasses on,
so that didn't help either but they
had a distinct shape to them, i'd never
seen before...sounds like a UFO!
i dunno Gravely, what's NJT's Aqua train?

It was most definitely not the Aqua Train as it is in Storage in Hoboken at the moment.

About 40 cars. MoW CWR train.

Not sure where its headed. My guess is somewhere on the Southern Tier. Maybe it has something to do with the new switches laying along the tracks at Sloatsburg and Arden?

That or they are bringing CWR to the Newark Branch. Anyone else have any ideas?
