Pertaining to all railroading subjects, past and present, in New Jersey

So I've read on Wikipedia that there was a proposed railroad running from Western NJ to Newark. At the time the M&E was still not owned by the DL&W so the Morris & Essex was a competitor when the Gladstone portion opened. Due to some issues the final portion from Summit to Newark was never finished. I was barely able to trace the incomplete route to Hillside, and from there the ROW no longer exists.

I know there are many remnants along the route until Springfield Avenue. Anyone have any idea where this rail would have went in Newark? I figure that some of the industrial branches in Hillside may have a relation to the NJWLR. I can't try looking for the route on Google Earth at the moment as I'm vacationing in Toronto without a PC. Any old maps that show the route in Newark?

And to my understanding, the M&E curve west of Summit was realigned at some point, but I can't seem to find the ROW of the original curve either.
