CSX 6228 is in the yard. The unit is equipped with PTC, so I’d expect it to make an appearance this Thursday.

Thanks Donny; the very first time in Browns for CSX 6228, correct? This is an ex-B&O unit built in 1979 when the Chessie System (pre-CSX) was still in control....would be great to see it on the Southern.

Dreams have been crushed... 4412 has replaced 6228, so that means we’re back to the usual suspects. Not really a big deal, but it would’ve been cool to see an ex-B&O GP40 on tomorrow’s train.

Got a chance to see the SA31 tonight. Will have a few photos soon. Even with the longest day of the year. my last photo spot was the Oak Glen Road grade crossing.

Somewhat on topic:
I saw a tv commercial (Science Channel) for Extech Building Materials about 6:30 this am. Perhaps this means they may get more rail deliveries. Extech has 6 locations, only one with a rail siding although one other (Closter, NJ) is adjacent to rail and could put in a siding. In the same commercial they mentioned that they carry Cambridge Paving Stones (Lyndhurst, NJ) who don't ship by rail but could if they put in a siding. It would be wonderful for NJ railfans to have more NJ - NJ rail traffic.

Took a little longer than I expected, but here are two photos from last Thursday. The spot between the convenience store and tracks in Farmingdale has really grown in since I first started photographing the SA35 back in the fall of 1997. Anyway, here are the two photos.

During their break: http://octrainguy.rrpicturearchives.net ... id=4979631
And leaving Farmingdale: http://octrainguy.rrpicturearchives.net ... id=4979632

Enjoy!
