That's because it's a genuine NH whistle,

So, my first trip to Essex went off without a hitch! Ran into Pete Lerro before I left. Really wish that I could stick around not only to chat, but chase the 3:30 train, but mom had to eat something (and the Clam and Bacon pizza from Pizza Works was better than either of us thought). I took some good shots, and I'm going to use them in an article I'm writing about the train related shenanigans from this past week. So Jeff, you will get the full report. Eventually. In the mean time, these videos might speak something of my trip. And one final note, 3025 was simply beautiful. I was about ready to cry when I saw it pull into Essex for the first time....

Here's a couple quick photos from the Lerro Productions photo charter and night photo shoot on May 21/22, 2012.

Many, many more to come in the near future...

Thanks

Thanks for the info, I have more interest towards the NY Cross Harbor end of the video so I just have to decide if it's worth the $30 for "a few shots".

The video has a shot of it being unloaded in Camden NJ, then next shot is Conrail moving it up to New Jersey, then it makes another sea voyage across NY Harbor on a car float, then unloaded by a NYCH diesel, then LIRR MP15s bring it up the Bay Ridge Branch to Conrail, over Hell Gate Bridge, and right to Old Saybrook. No shots of it between Hell Gate and Essex, outside of those two locations.

I shot some stills of 1647 at CR's Oak Point Yard in Da Broncks; 35mm Kodachromes. It was awaiting further movement to New Haven via CR local freight. Didn't see any LIRR power there (at Oak Point).
