Among other things, the state wants to ramp up construction debris recycling, so the future looks good for more facilities like at Frostbridge.

According to the plan, the state must achieve a 10 percent reduction in municipal solid waste, and boost the statewide recycling rate from 35 percent 45 percent. At this time, Connecticut recycles 1.25 million tons of municipal solid waste annually.

The state produces nearly 1 million tons of construction and demolition debris each year. The DEEP plan says the state must also significantly increase the recycling of these materials.

And had been interchanged about 30 hours before the fire started.

Fire was out in 20 mins, and train was inspected and continued to East Deerfield. If the train had stopped anywhere other than right next to a TV station, in the State capitol, this would have been a non-issue.
