actually, in addition to the caboose at newbury harbor, there's a caboose in bradford near the old c&c alignment. it's now part of "the bradford junction restaurant".

C&C

Actually, if you talk to the owner, he will tell you that the building was the original Henniker Junction station. How true is anyone's guess.

I had a chance to explore the C&C row between Concord and Claremont last January.

My digiatl camera died as I took a pic of MP1. I headed to a nearby Rite Aid and bought a point and shoot camera. I later had the pics scanned, but the quality did not come out so great. Sorry 'bout that!

This is the C&C row in Concord as it climbs away from the former B&M mainline to WRJ. The NEGS was storing a few cars to the left of this photo:

Another view taken from the Rt. 202/4 bridge:

This is MP1 near Penacook St:

More to come:

This is the flipside of MP1, MP56. 56 miles to Claremont Junction. The road crossing here is now closed. The rail is still in place. I'd like to live in the house on the right:

This metal thing to warn a snowplow of a road crossing amazingly still stands near Penacook St:

The tracks and a siding are still in place near McGuire St:

The tracks are still place here at the former Dolan St crossing:

nice photos. a small detail, i believe the bridge is not 202/4 where you took the photo. it's only 202/393. route 4 joins at the "cloverleaf", which is just to the east of where you took the photo. route 4 runs north/south from this exit up to the boscawen exit, then heads west.

I gotta finish this...

Here's the restored passenger coach in Contoocook:

I was in Claremont again last Sunday.

I explored the original trolley line from the present day C&C yard to West Claremont.

I found a short stretch of C&C track still in place.

You can see it here at Bing maps:

Great shots of the C&C. Thanks. You are correct on where the line crossed Route 3. Right by the prison. The house on the east side of the street before the line crossed looks like a photo I have of a station called Fishervile. (That part of Concord). There is no mention of a fisherville station in the B&M 1923 list of stations.
Curious if anyone ever heard of it.

Fisherville is the old name for Penacook; uncertain of the year it was changed. Only a mile north on the old C&C from the Route 3 crossing was Garrison (formerly West Concord) station, and none of the histories of Concord or the 1892 map refer a station at the crossing. Penacook station is right on the Merrimack, not far from a bridge.
