Thanks all.. I was wondering if they would ever run freight (as Naugatuck do at times). I know that when B&M abandoned the Conway branch, Yield House used to ship furniture out.

Fortunately or unfortunately (depending on how you view it) the Silver Lake Railroad is not a real railroad. They run MOW type of equipment with flatbed style cars with canopies; each car may hold 15 to 20 persons max. So no, no freight.

Cotton Valley Rail Trail club operates speeders on the Wolfeboro and conway branch out of Ossipee. Silver Lake Railroad runs three miles north of the Madison Depot.

Nice report, glad to see this place is doing well. I wish I lived closer, so I too could help out. Hope the owner goes with the black with red and white stripes; it represents both the B&M and MEC. That scheme is one of my favorites.

Railfans Day is coming right up. Saturday September 27th.

Every year we like to do something different, and this year is no acceptation. This year we will be running two trains:

The Excursion Train- with three coaches, an engine on either end.

The Extra- The Blue A6, flat car, NEW*** MOW Mower, and the Orange A6. Ask for a "cab ride" to ride on the extra.

To make things interesting we will be switching an engine on the excursion train every run.

Extra Departures-

9:00AM (Boulder Road)
10:15AM (Boulder Road)
11:25AM (MP B128)
12:25PM (MP B128)
