Is the semaphore in Wilton CT on MNCR still in operation/in place?

no it was no longer in service after the manual block operator job was canceled. the semaphore is now at Danbury railway museum.

I used to live in Wilton Ct. in the 1960-1970's and worked right next to the RR station. I took the train to NYC quite often and talked with the agent there. As it was a train order station the semaphore was used for most trains passing in both directions. Also had scheduled meets there.

We still have two scheduled meets there at 17:44 and 21:29, but with new rulebook and RTC's having control over branch in New york there is no need for the semaphore all instructions are by form M

When I was a kid, we would drive by the depot, an I used to think to myself how cool it was that the depot still had the antique semaphore- had no idea it was actually in use... and I missed it when it was gone.
