Yes everybody is correct they also started doing business fith a fuel dealer of some kind in W.Leb. Also in Claremont Jct. they serve Recycling Services and are contracted by other railroads to install Hot Starts in locomotives. they are owned by Rail Mechanical Services of Pennsylvania.

Hey guys, I know this is outdated, but all I am sure of is that they have 102 in Claremont, and 104 in White River Junction. I am not sure about 105, i haven't seen it in quite a while. If anyone knows about 105, please reply!

2 of the 3 Alcos on the CC are oos:

"#104 is in West Lebanon in a state of disrepair from freezing two winters ago.

#102 is in Claremont, robbed of parts from the CCRR's attempt to get the unit in West Lebanon running.

#107 (former CN) is still running in Claremont.

Without their old mechanic who was good with the Alcos, they are barely hanging on."

WHITE RIVER JUNCTION, Vt. >> One of the country’s smallest railroad lines is becoming part of one of the biggest rail carriers in the world.

The Valley News reports the Upper Valley short line that shuttles freight over the Connecticut River between White River Junction, Vermont, and West Lebanon, New Hampshire, is being acquired by Genesee & Wyoming.

The Connecticut-based railroad giant filed a notice Thursday that it’s reached a purchase agreement with Claremont Concord Railroad to acquire its railroad line in Claremont, New Hampshire and lease to operate over a state-owned line in West Lebanon.

Hopefully the Alcos live through the sale. If NECR (G&W) decides to keep running to Lavalley in Claremont the Alcos would be suitable for the lighter rail, however they still have friction bearings so they probably would be sold/scrapped. Its a shame, as #102 was once GMRC #305 and was one of the last locomotives to operate in the city of Keene, NH. I believe #104 is also ex-GMRC and was used on the Ashuelot Branch to Keene as well.

Unfortunately, it seems highly unlikely that the Alcos will end up working on the NECR. In fact, I have already heard that the NECR SW1500 1525 (a.k.a. the Black Rat) has been sent to White River Junction to work the CCRR line there. However, I wonder if the Alcos were included in the sale (only one of three is currently operational), and, if not, perhaps they will be sold to another railroad.

A Connecticut Southern caboose is being used as a shoving platform.

New ties have been put in.

"All the switches have been replaced through out the entire 2 miles of track, plus ballast has been graded."

This was also one of the last locomotives to ever serve Keene, NH when the GMRC controlled the Ashuelot Branch from Brattleboro. Important piece of history!

Very nice. My first (and only to date) cab ride was in CCRR #105. 8 or 9 years ago? A number of fine New England RRers worked for the CCRR over the years. Good people. A toast to them!
