Assuming BSRR solved the cost of liability insurance, they could build an outdoor platform, next to the Amtrak station, on Gaspee St on the freight track. Then they won't have to negotiate a station lease with Amtrak. They could choose whatever platform height they want - short, using surplus center-entrance bilevel coaches they seem to have in Chicago or California. Or high platforms with wide gaps like Brightline uses to allow wide freights. Just keep the gap fillers permanently extended all winter.

I was just looking at the "six year financial projection".. Without "capital investment", they project zero rail revenue and operate a bus line (maybe).. With "capital investment", the rail revenue stream is projected for 2023.. Who, in their right mind, is going to invest in this crawl by night outfit? Colour me skeptical, here..

Isn't Worcester all high-level too? Or are these guys going to take a page of the McGinnis-era New Haven and serve Worcester out of some random converted freight shed by the Southbridge Street yard? :-D

I assumed since they would be coming up on P&W track that they would use the "derelict" platform on the "north-south" track (the one with the skeleton of a canopy roof). Which is a low platform. That way they wouldn't compete with the MBTA for platform space on the east-west track (CSX side), which is already in shortage.

On 11/4/2020 In an article entitled "Lima defeats Bono in House District 49", LAUREN CLEM of the Valley Breeze staff wrote:
Lima defeats Bono in House District 49

WOONSOCKET – Woonsocket’s only contested General Assembly race saw Democrat Steven Lima defeat independent Vincent Bono with a 2,070-1,184 split on Tuesday, or 63.3 percent of the vote.

Lima, a former city planning director and owner of a telecommunications company, told The Breeze on Wednesday he was happy with the results.

“I’m looking forward to getting things hopefully happening in Woonsocket,” he said.

Lima noted the dynamic in the General Assembly could be different this year with the defeat of House Speaker Nick Mattiello by Republican Barbara Ann Fenton-Fung.

His opponent, Bono, is a local entrepreneur and the founder of the Boston Surface Railroad Company. Bono told The Breeze he was disappointed in the results but impressed with his vote count as an independent candidate.
