While yes CVRTC is now a NARCOA club....membership is not a requirement to ride the rails. As I stated before CVRTC only has a usage agreement for the engine house and Fernald Station. The rails are considered a "trail" under DRED thus requiring open access. I was on the CVRTC BOD right up until the move to becoming part of NARCOA a few years ago.


There's no listing on the Web from NHDOT/DRED as to the allowed rails, but a call to NHDOT rail bureau will give you the answer. Of common riding are the Wolfeboro branch at 11miles. The Ossipee section of the Conway Branch at 8 miles. 1 mile or so in Londonderry on the M&L. Those are available at all times with open riding. Several other state opened rails are available via special permit from the leasing railroad if allowed by their management
