New Book on Hampden Railroad

A new book telling all about the Hampden Railroad has just been published.
This is the line that connected the Central Mass to Springfield to connect with the New Haven and New York traffic.
this was built by private contractor driven by Charles S Mellen, backed by JP Morgan $$$.
Great book, lots of new and never seen pictures!!
Limited first printings are available direct from the author.

Interesting subject. Sent the author an email, no reply. Did a google search, nothing additional on this book. Anyone have any additional details on this book? (There was a reply in the New England Railroads that Never Were thread that ebtmikado was kind enough to mention a website with pictures during construction.)

I bought a copy of this volume at the ARS show. Not only is it loaded with high quality original photos but the background about this stilborn railroad is well explained. It's a "must have" for your library. It is a self published work with beautiful color covers that maintains the highest quality standards. The author is easily accessible through here.

For anyone interested is learning more about the Hampden Railroad, I will be presenting a PPT show at Holyoke Library on Saturday April 26 2014, 2-14 starting at 2 PM.
Copies of the book will be available at the presentation.
This past week, I was at Palmer Library, well attended program.
I am looking for local bookstores to sell the books, I am not working with the large chains yet.
This book is such a local focus, not likely to be picked up by B&N or Amazon.
