Emery is just north of Decatur on the IC's "Charter Line." At one time the Illinois Terminal paralleled the IC through here, and a PRR line branched off at Maroa, which the IT later bought to access Peoria. But I remember reading on George Elwood's site that the IC, PRR, and IT all paralleled each other through Emery. Was this true, and if it was, when was in consolidated?

The IC and IT ran through Emery, and the careful observer can still detect the rights-of-way. The PRR also ran north from Decatur to Maroa, but I can't say if it paralleled these other two lines through Emery. The IT went out of existence in the early 1980's, folded into the N&W. The PRR right of way from Decatur to Peoria was horrendous, and hard pressed to support much freight traffic in as far back as the 1950's.
