I've been to Toronto via Maple Leaf, it's nice. You really don't need a car, there's the TTC Toronto Subway (union Sation in fact has a stop there), and the trolleys including the Scarborough RT to Scarborough Town Centre which is a mall if you wanna hang out somewhere cool. I did that exactly back in '04 when I last went.

Also, check out the CN Tower if you have time. And don't forget a camera too.

They have the same signal reception as the United States, no difference. Have fun and I hope you like Toronto. I sure did.
