According to the Canadian Trackside Guide (published by the Bytown Railway Society) CP 4068 sold to VIA Rail in 1978, CP 4070 is now AMT 1300. VIA 4068 was renumbered 1424 in 1979, it is now displayed in Medicine Hat, Alberta. Not sure what happened to the Amtrak unit.

Hi! The two engines in Silver Streak (1976) were CP Rail 4070 and 4067.
See my other post (with more info) here in railroad.net:
http://www.railroad.net/forums/viewtopi ... =51&t=7958

I have found conflicting info on the engines. One said that 4070 was gone to scrap, the others said 4067 was gone. I don't know which story is correct. Post if you have referenced info on the matter, and new photos.

Thanks!
