Our News and Articles Website, news is looking to expand!
Railroad.net is currently looking for content contributors for our News and Articles section. You don’t have to be an expert with Wordpress or web publishing, we would be happy to format and publish your content while keeping it under your name.
We are looking for the following:
Original Photographs with short description: Submit a photo and a short description of the photo. Photos can be anything railroad related. Photos do not have to be professional but need to be of publishable quality.
Feature Articles: Articles related to railroading. Unlike the former management, we ARE OPEN to all kinds of ideas including, but not limited to, railfan tours/guides, trip reports, historical articles, stories from railroad employees, and more. We want to publish a website that has a variety of original content, not just recycling news stories.
News Stories: Railroad News and Updates, ranging from picking up stories from the national press to reporting on local railroad activities and events.
We Don’t Know We Need It: Do you have an idea for something that would fit nicely that we didn’t mention? Let’s talk about it.
For the moment, we are only able to offer the following benefits:
• Content Credit
• Right to Link to our Content
As our site grows, we hope to be able to offer stipends for contributions.
We are also in the process of rolling out paid memberships for Railroad.net which will enable users to disable the ads on the site. Content contributors may receive a credit of one month ad-free membership for each month they contribute one of the following:
Photos: 6 publishable photos per month
Articles: 2 feature length articles per month
News: 1 news story per week.
We have tried to balance the requirements based on the amount of time and effort required. We also reserve the right to edit these requirements as this program evolves.
