Another year has come and gone. Hopefully #18 and 19 (and friends) will see traffic pick up this year, along with the usual Whippany excursions and perhaps a caboose hop or few to Rockaway or on the High Bridge Branch, before having the year wrapped up with another great Toys For Tots special!

Begin here!

Heads up: Morris County DOT will be doing crossing rehabilitation at Warren and Sussex Streets in Dover this week on the Dover-Rockaway Line. Warren Street will be closed for 48 hours starting Tuesday 7 am and Sussex Street starting Thursday.

This may mean no service out to Rockaway this week on the usual Tuesday or Friday schedule.

Interesting... Anyone have numbers for this car and locomotive?

Apparently there are/were 2 ex-Vermonter cars. Here now and 1 seemingly intact is on track 1. Major pieces of another have been craned onto a truck and are getting strapped down for transport. Too dark for numbers. No sign of lower parts of the car do assume they're gone already. Tracks are fouled by a remaining piece that's not going on this truck. No sign of 18 or 19 assume tied up out of the way.

I believe it was an Adirondack car in Rockaway (1851). The Vermonter cars were in Cedar Knolls and Wharton.

I would assume the switcher in question is 559.

#19 was at ths shops today, along with Vermonter baggage car 1801 (Phase III). The other Vermonter car (which would been scrapped) would be 1802 in Phase IV/NortheastDirect. 19 was idling and running today around noon.

Caboose 100 was resting solo on the Ridgedale runaround near a centerbeam flat.

And here's the Sussex Street crossing reconstrction in Dover:

R36,

Any reason for the centerbeam on the Whippany Line?? What customer on the Whippany gets centerbeams??

Thanks.

R36 Combine Coach wrote:Centerbeams are usually used by lumber companies. The only one on the Whippany Line would be ACE, but it has not been active since 2003. Kuiken regularly receives them.

If you are talking about ACE in Roseland, then that is no longer there.! Kuikens took over that facility as well!

18 brought a centerbeam west through Dover this morning.
