I recently saw and heard that the Lake State Railway just recently sidelined their entire ALCo fleet after acquiring five or six GP40-2's, and a GP40X...I was wondering if LA&L, WNY&P, and B&H has heard of this and or if those units are for sale or even if LA&L family would need any more power at this point. I was curious was all :-D .

I hear quite a few of those units are in bad shape. Not sure if all, but some are. I get the feeling they're trying to standardize the fleet, too. Michigan is getting to be a boring state. It used to have Alcos, ferrys, Mackinac Mac, Baldwins, etc... Now its just 1980's EMDs. On the other hand, we're lucky there's any traffic at all in that state the way things are going.
