What is to become of the many stacks of used rail that were taken up in Avon, now that much of the line south of Brooks Rd. has been converted to Continuous Welded Rail? More yards?

An educated guess based on what some informed sources have mentioned:

1) Scrap.

2) The contractor is taking ownership of a lot of it.

There is also a massive stack just north of the Papermill Road. I imagine some of the rail could be used for additional yard trackage up at Avon. It couldn't hurt. Having chased the train recently, the LA&L is busy with carloads in and out.
