On posts listed on this forum and the NY State forum, we have been hearing about NS coal trains running back and forth between Meadville and Hornell.

Does the WNY&P run anything on the line between Meadville and Hornell?
If they do, how often?

In a post on Railfan net forums, Steve Timko announced that August finished as the busiest month to date on the WNYP! Steve can you give us any type of traffic counts for the month and year to date?

Greg

We don't post specific traffic numbers nor do we identify our customers or what we carry. This is due partly to our company policy and partly due to our mandated Security Policy.

I can state that our unit train business has been on the increase for the past six months and our local traffic base is growing each month also.

Our Marketing Department has several potential shippers that are progressing nicely and several shippers that we have had for some time have indicated expansion plans as far as rail movements. This year we have several new customers up and running.

We're operating local service from Falconer to Cuba or Belvidere three times a week and from Falconer to Corry or Meadville three times a week. This is in addition to a daily local that works industries around Jamestown-Falconer.

Steve,

Thank you, good to hear from you, all sounds very positive for the WNYP. Hope that growth continues. Please keep up updated on the welded rail project in Pa. and other tidbits of info that you can give. I whole heartedly agree with your security measures, safety first!
