Hi guys, a buddy of mine, who used to live in Roanoke, VA many years ago, wants to know when the Roanoke streetcar service ended. I did some research for him and came up with 1940 when the Roanoke Street Railway was abandoned. He told me that was not it. Then I found another possible name, the Roanoke Railway & Light Company, but I cannot find any info for that line. Can someone shed some light on when regular streetcar service ended in Roanoke, VA? Thanks in advance.

"On July 31, 1948, streetcar service to the area was abandoned, which also marked the end of streetcar transit altogether within the city of Roanoke" Dalmas, James E..
