For about the past couple of weeks there has been a lot of work done on the Vickers diamonds in Northwood, with trains on both CSX and NS needing to ask permission past stop signs.

Was this a complete replacement of the diamonds or just a maintenance blitz to shore things up?

Also, Droulliard Rd. was closed today at the NS crossing...it looks like they're doing something to the siding.

Thanks for any info anyone has.

Vickers diamond, was replaced over the past two weeks. This past Monday, NS replaced the NS #2 track, and both CSX #1 & #2. The week before, on Monday, they replaced the NS #1 and both CSX #1 & #2. On both mondays, CSX detoured over the NS Chicago line, from CP 286 CP 289 on the Chicago Line, and CP 289 to CP Alexis on the Detroit Line. This compleats, the replacement of all NS diamonds that cross the CSX in Toledo. Ironville, was replaced two years ago, and Alexis last year. Also as a side note, the NS-CSX diamond in Wayne, Mi., is sitting there ready to be put in. All three ride 110% better. Droullard Rd, was closed on either Monday or Tuesday, as when I went to work, on Wensday morning (02:00) it was closed. They replaced the rail in the #2 track, at the crossing, and mabey more. I was on Q15012 today, and NS had the diamond OOS and had things backed up on the Terminal today. We sat at GTW for 2 & 1/2 hours, and died there.
