487 is parts, then scrap.

Verdict is still out on what will happen to 485 and 486. They're still intact enough to be made operational if the occasion arises.

They should restore the 485 and 486 (and possibly the 487) for excursion services. It would be nice to have the FL9s on the Easter/Santa trains.

If you have $$$ to provide, I'm sure M&E management would be totally okay with that idea.

Why so late on a weekend? Outlawed?
This may have been one of the days that NS borrowed our engine because 3010 had mechanical issues and NS didn't have anything else with cab signals that could fit under the wire on NJT.

Passengers cars in the M&E shop for work on Friday August 3rd:

Former Bangor & Aroostook heavyweight office car 100 SUITSME is up on jacks inside the building for a "big ticket" upgrade ... Amtrak certification (full HEP and truck rebuild), a new kitchen, and other interior work ... the car's owner plans to take it to the AAPRCO convention (September 27-29 at Chattanooga), so the key work items must be completed by mid-September.

Bedroom lounge car MOUNT VERNON is outside the building ... undercarriage was pressure washed and repainted last week ... an air tank that is part of the water raising system was replaced ... car will be inside the building next week for replacement of two disc brake wheelsets. Car's next trip is to Niagara Falls on Labor Day weekend, followed by the AAPRCO convention special train and then part of Railroad Revival Tour 2012 http://railroadrevival.com special train with Willie Nelson and other musicians.

Been meaning to post - the membrane covering over the shop extension which was damaged some time ago and had been flapping in the breeze has been replaced. The new is white versus the old dark green.

7205 has disappeared from the shop area - did it in fact get sold and shipped?
