Hi,

I'm new to this site and couldn't find anything related to Mexican rail other than the new system in Mexico D.F. I'm trying to go from Austin, TX to Monterrey, Mexico and heard from a girl that lived in Laredo that there was a train that went from Nuevo Laredo to Monterrey. Does anybody know anything about this or know where I might find more information on this? I would love to take a train through that region of Mexico.

Thanks!!

As noted at my Mexico DF topic, save two tourist operations, Los Mochis-Creel and Guadalajara-Tequills, there is no intercity rail passenger service remaining in Mexico. As I noted at that topic, such was a condition precedent of the US roads investing in the Mexican System to privatize such. Also included, expressed or implied, was "don't even THINK of a Mextrak".

Nevertheless, my rail travel memories include a 1973 ride N Laredo to Mexico on the Aztec Eagle.
