CP has a yard in Strathcona (southern part of Edmonton), just east of Gateway Boulevard and south of Whyte (82nd) Avenue: one track crossed Whyte Avenue to a concrete bumper about a city block north. Occasionally, when switching a long cut of cars, the switcher (typically an SD40/GP9 or SD40/GP38 duo) would cross the Avenue (protected by flashers).

No more. Track has been removed for about a city block south of Whyte, and a concrete bumper placed across the track where it now ends.
