railcar research. component manufacturers, axles

Hi all,

I am an engineer and i am doing a research on the american railway industry.

Although the american railway market is important in terms of purchases, there is no big in-house railcar manufacturer, am I right?

The main railcar manufacturers are all from abroad, and all they have in the US are assembly and service facilities, am I right with this?

Here goes my question:

Are there in such a great country component manufacturers for the railway industry? I think there must be since there are no railcar big players...

I am specially interested in axle and bogie manufacturers.

Please help me with my research!
